What changes from PNG to BMP

QualityNothing lost: BMP keeps every pixel
TransparencyTransparent areas are filled with white
Camera details and locationLeft out: the BMP is saved without them
Colour depthSaved at 8 bits per channel
File sizeUsually larger: BMP compresses less tightly than PNG

When to use BMP: Older Windows software, simple paint programs and tools that expect raw, uncompressed pixels.

Questions

How do I convert PNG to BMP?

Drop your PNG file on this page, or choose it. Anyfile converts it on your device in a moment and the BMP downloads straight away. To change it first, open it in the photo editor.

Is my PNG file uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read and converted by your own browser, and nothing is sent to a server. You can check: open your browser’s developer tools, go to Network, and convert a file. No upload appears.

What happens to transparent areas?

BMP can’t hold transparency, so they’re filled with white.

Is my location removed?

Yes: the BMP is saved without camera details, so the location isn’t in it.

Can I convert several PNG files at once?

Yes. Drop them together and you get one ZIP with every BMP inside.
