Compress PDF

Anyfile makes a PDF document smaller for free, right in your browser: nothing is uploaded. Drop it below and the smaller copy downloads at once.

Files are converted in your browser and never uploaded. By using Anyfile you agree to the Terms of Use.

What it does

Anyfile re-compresses the pictures inside the PDF so they stay sharp at their size on the page. Text, fonts, links and forms aren’t touched. A PDF that’s mostly text is often already small, and then it’s kept as it was.

About PDF files

Questions

Will it still look good?

Yes. Text stays exactly as it was, and pictures stay sharp at their printed size; only detail you couldn’t see on the page is dropped.

How much smaller will it get?

It depends on the PDF: scans and photo-heavy PDFs shrink a lot, text-only ones barely. The card shows the new size before you use it.

Is my file uploaded?

No. It’s compressed in your browser, on your device; nothing is sent to a server.

Can I compress several at once?

Yes. Drop them together and choose Make it smaller: you get one ZIP with every smaller file.
