What changes from GIF to BMP

QualityNothing lost: BMP keeps every pixel
TransparencyTransparent areas are filled with white
AnimationOnly the first frame
File sizeUsually larger: BMP compresses less tightly than GIF

When to use BMP: Older Windows software, simple paint programs and tools that expect raw, uncompressed pixels.

Questions

How do I convert GIF to BMP?

Drop your GIF file on this page, or choose it. Anyfile converts it on your device in a moment and the BMP downloads straight away. To change it first, open it in the photo editor.

Is my GIF file uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read and converted by your own browser, and nothing is sent to a server. You can check: open your browser’s developer tools, go to Network, and convert a file. No upload appears.

Will the animation still play?

No: BMP holds a single picture, so only the first frame is kept.

What happens to transparent areas?

BMP can’t hold transparency, so they’re filled with white.

Can I convert several GIF files at once?

Yes. Drop them together and you get one ZIP with every BMP inside.
