The two formats

About BMP files

.ico

Windows icon

The Windows icon format. One file bundles the same picture at several sizes, such as 16, 32 and 256 pixels square, so the system can pick the right one.

Questions

How do I convert BMP to ICO?

Drop your BMP file on this page, or choose it. Anyfile converts it on your device in a moment and the ICO downloads straight away. To change it first, open it in the photo editor.

Is my BMP file uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read and converted by your own browser, and nothing is sent to a server. You can check: open your browser’s developer tools, go to Network, and convert a file. No upload appears.

Can I convert several BMP files at once?

Yes. Drop them together and you get one ZIP with every ICO inside.
