.apng

animated PNGAnimated Portable Network Graphics

An extension of PNG, proposed by Mozilla developers in 2004, that adds animation frames. Unlike GIF it keeps full colour and soft transparency, and plain PNG viewers show the first frame.

Small looping animations and stickers that need more colours or smoother edges than GIF allows.

Opens in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge

Questions

How do I convert APNG to WEBP?

Drop your APNG file on this page, or choose it. Anyfile converts it on your device in a moment and the WEBP downloads straight away. To change it first, open it in the photo editor.

Is my APNG file uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read and converted by your own browser, and nothing is sent to a server. You can check: open your browser’s developer tools, go to Network, and convert a file. No upload appears.

Will the animation still play?

Yes. Every frame and its timing are kept in the WEBP.

Will I lose quality?

WEBP is a compressed format, and Anyfile saves at high quality, so the difference is very hard to notice. For no loss at all, keep the APNG.

Can I convert several APNG files at once?

Yes. Drop them together and you get one ZIP with every WEBP inside.
