The two formats

.psd

Photoshop documentPhotoshop Document

Adobe Photoshop’s native file, used since the first version in 1990. It keeps layers, masks, adjustment layers, text and effects so the artwork stays editable.

Layered artwork, photo edits and design mock-ups that are still being worked on.

Opens in Photoshop, Affinity Photo, GIMP, Photopea, Preview (flattened)

Questions

How do I convert PSD to WEBP?

Drop your PSD file on this page, or choose it. Anyfile converts it on your device in a moment and the WEBP downloads straight away. To change it first, open it in the layered image editor.

Is my PSD file uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read and converted by your own browser, and nothing is sent to a server. You can check: open your browser’s developer tools, go to Network, and convert a file. No upload appears.

Are the layers kept?

No: WEBP is a flat picture, so the layers are merged exactly as the document looks. Keep the PSD too if you want to edit layers later.

Will I lose quality?

WEBP is a compressed format, and Anyfile saves at high quality, so the difference is very hard to notice. For no loss at all, keep the PSD.

Can I convert several PSD files at once?

Yes. Drop them together and you get one ZIP with every WEBP inside.
