Free alternative

A free Zamzar alternative

An online file converter that says it supports 1100+ formats, with compression, splitting and text-extraction tools, a Windows and Mac desktop app, and an API. Anyfile is a free alternative for many of the same jobs: it opens, edits and converts files in your browser, and nothing is uploaded.

When Zamzar is the better choice

Zamzar is the better choice when you need a format Anyfile does not open, conversion by email, a Windows or Mac desktop app, or an API for your own software. Anyfile suits quick conversions and edits where the file should stay on your device.
